On December 9, 2023, the International Academic Forum for Non-Exposed Spaces was successfully held at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, attracting experts, scholars, and industry representatives from major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong. The event served as a dynamic platform for cross-disciplinary dialogue, where participants explored the development, application, and integration of non-exposed space technologies across various industries.

The concept of "non-exposed space" was first formally introduced by Academician Yang Yuanxi during the inaugural "Beidou Salon" and was later endorsed by Academician Sun Jiadong and a group of respected academicians. In recognition of its growing academic significance, the forum was officially renamed the "Non-Exposed Space Academic Forum."

This year’s forum featured insightful presentations on a wide range of technologies, including satellite communications, remote sensing, Beidou + UWB, and real-life 3D reconstruction. These technologies are rapidly advancing applications in urban rail transit, seaport logistics, coal mining tunnels, and other non-line-of-sight environments.

One of the event highlights was the keynote speech by Dr. Sun Hongxing, General Manager of Wuhan Geosun Navigation Technology Co., Ltd., who shared technical insights into the principles, application scenarios, and development trends of mobile laser scanning systems. His presentation emphasized how these systems are empowering intelligent spatial data acquisition in complex and previously inaccessible environments.

In recognition of its outstanding contributions and forward-thinking innovations, Geosun Navigation was proudly awarded the "Non-Exposed Space Application Innovation Award." This honor highlights Geosun's commitment to pioneering geospatial solutions and advancing the integration of LiDAR technology in non-exposed and underground environments.
