Smart City 3D LiDAR Mapping | Integrated Airborne, Vehicle & Handheld Survey of Lanzhou Jiaotong University

To create a high-precision 3D model of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Geosun carried out a comprehensive LiDAR scanning project using airborne, vehicle-mounted, and handheld LiDAR systems. This integrated solution ensured complete data coverage across the entire campus, from wide-area aerial mapping to detailed ground-level and building facade scanning.

• Airborne LiDAR (GS-260X): Captured large-scale topography and building layouts quickly with long-range coverage.
• Vehicle-Mounted LiDAR (GCollector M302): Provided dense road and urban corridor data for accurate street-level mapping.
• Handheld LiDAR (GS-120G): Enabled flexible scanning of complex areas, narrow spaces, and building interiors/exteriors.

The combined datasets were processed into a seamless 3D point cloud model, delivering centimeter-level accuracy. This model supports applications such as:

• Campus digital twin and planning
• Smart campus management
• Infrastructure documentation
• Urban research and BIM integration
