In a recent project conducted in the Netherlands, the Geosun GS-130X UAV LiDAR Scanning System was deployed for the detailed mapping of a large sand field site. The mission aimed to accurately capture the terrain features of an expansive and highly reflective environment—typically a challenge for traditional sensors.
Despite the surface complexity and variation in texture, the GS-130X, equipped with the Hesai XT32 sensor, delivered exceptionally dense and uniform point cloud results. Each elevation change, ridge line, and pile structure was sharply defined, supporting both digital elevation model (DEM) generation and stockpile analysis with ease.
Highlights:
360° full field of view, ideal for open-pit and wide-area scanning
Strong vegetation and surface penetration, even on loose or granular surfaces
Ranging accuracy up to ±3 cm, supporting precise volume calculation
Two-return capability, enabling richer terrain interpretation
This case demonstrates the GS-130X’s capability in handling open industrial terrain with high-efficiency data acquisition, making it a reliable choice for sandpit management, mining operations, and large-area surface reconstruction projects.
