Geosun GS-130G SLAM LiDAR Scanning System for Outdoor Mapping of a National Key Laboratory
In a recent outdoor mapping project, the Geosun GS-130G SLAM LiDAR Scanning System was used to conduct a full 3D scan of the exterior structure of a National Key Laboratory. The goal was to generate high-resolution point cloud data for detailed documentation and planning purposes.
The GS-130G is equipped with a Hesai XT-32 laser sensor, delivering up to 640,000 points per second with 32 laser channels and a range of up to 120 meters. During this project, it demonstrated exceptional adaptability to open terrain and architectural features, even under challenging lighting and GNSS-compromised conditions.
With the help of Geosun’s proprietary SLAM algorithm, the GS-130G ensured continuous trajectory tracking and stable data collection without the need for GPS signal. The scan captured fine structural details of the laboratory’s exterior, including facade geometry, rooftops, access paths, and surrounding vegetation.
Thanks to its portable, lightweight design (only ~2.6 kg) and intuitive operation, the mapping task was completed efficiently by a single operator within a short time. The final point cloud proved to be dense, clean, and highly accurate—ideal for engineering assessment, maintenance planning, and digital twin modeling.
This case highlights the GS-130G as a practical and powerful tool for outdoor survey scenarios, especially where flexibility, speed, and high-resolution results are key.
