Tunnel Inspection丨Geosun GS-100G Handheld LiDAR Scanning System for Underground Mine Mapping
In a recent underground mine tunnel project, the Geosun GS-100G handheld LiDAR scanner demonstrated outstanding performance in a GPS-denied, low-light environment. The scanning mission involved navigating through curved passages, varying elevations, and rugged, confined spaces—challenges that the GS-100G handled with ease.
Equipped with the Hesai XT32 laser sensor, the GS-100G delivers high-density point clouds with a detection range up to 120 meters and a relative accuracy of 2–3 cm. Its advanced SLAM algorithm enables seamless mapping without GNSS, making it ideal for subterranean and indoor applications.
Weighing only around 1.5 kg, the GS-100G is exceptionally lightweight and portable, allowing a single operator to complete complex tunnel surveys efficiently. The point cloud result clearly reveals tunnel walls, curves, and structural texture, supporting accurate analysis and digital reconstruction.
This project highlights the GS-100G as a reliable tool for mining, tunnel inspection, underground infrastructure mapping, and geotechnical studies—providing robust 3D data capture in environments where traditional surveying tools fall short.
