High-Altitude Precision Scanning for Substation Inspection with
Geosun GS-1500N
In modern power grid management, accuracy and efficiency in infrastructure mapping are essential. The Geosun GS-1500N UAV LiDAR system was recently deployed for substation inspection tasks and demonstrated exceptional performance in long-range scanning.
Flying at both 200 meters and 300 meters above ground level, the GS-1500N captured highly detailed and continuous point cloud data of the substation’s internal structures. Key components, including main grounding lines and insulator assemblies, were clearly reconstructed with precision. Even the 10kV distribution network lines—typically challenging to detect at higher altitudes—were fully restored with high clarity.
Thanks to its long-range capabilities and industry-leading accuracy, the GS-1500N significantly reduces the need for repeated flights and manual verification. Its high-density point clouds ensure comprehensive spatial information in a single pass, saving both time and operational cost.
This project confirms that the GS-1500N is an ideal solution for complex, large-scale power grid inspections—offering a reliable, efficient, and rework-free mapping workflow for utilities and infrastructure maintenance teams.
