Forestry 丨 Geosun GS-260X UAV LiDAR Scanning System in Shangganling, Yichun

Project: Full-Area Terrain Scanning

Located in the rugged forested region of Shangganling, Yichun, Heilongjiang Province, this project utilized the Geosun GS-260X UAV LiDAR Scanning System to conduct a high-efficiency terrain survey and forest mapping mission.

With an average terrain elevation difference of over 200 meters and dense coniferous vegetation covering most of the area, the GS-260X demonstrated excellent terrain-following capability at a flight height of 80 meters and speed of 5 m/s. Despite complex topography and signal interference caused by thick tree canopies, the point cloud output was highly detailed, with individual trees clearly distinguishable and forest structure well defined.

Thanks to its 32-channel laser sensor and high-precision POS system, the GS-260X successfully generated an accurate digital elevation model (DEM) along with deliverables such as tree height, canopy width, tree count, and canopy closure. The mission confirmed the system’s outstanding penetration performance and data reliability even in the remote and challenging landscapes of northeast China.

This project highlights GS-260X as a robust, high-performance solution for forestry applications where precision and adaptability to harsh environments are essential.
