Collaborating for Precision Aerial Mapping: Danjiangkou Reservoir

In a groundbreaking collaboration with the local government of Danjiangkou Reservoir, our team achieved a significant milestone by conducting a 30-minute aerial survey that generated a precise 2.5 square kilometer high-resolution point cloud dataset.

The primary objective of this project was to gather detailed aerial data to support environmental monitoring and management efforts around Danjiangkou Reservoir. The point cloud dataset obtained would serve as a crucial resource for assessing terrain characteristics, vegetation health, and potential environmental changes in the area.

The drones operated at an altitude of 150 meters above ground level, maintaining a consistent flight speed of 10 meters per second with a 30% overlap rate between consecutive flight paths.During the flight, LiDAR sensors onboard the drones captured precise elevation and terrain data, producing a dense point cloud that accurately represented the topography of the surveyed area.
